A rare Limited Edition by Frank Wootton signed by the legendary Douglas Bader

Douglas Bader was one of the most distinguished and well known fighter pilots of World War II. A colourful and controversial character he became one of Britain’s greatest heroes. The painting by Frank Wootton depicts the events of 9 August 1941 when Bader’s Spitfire was shot down over Northern France resulting in him becoming one of the most famous Prisoners of War. The original painting was sold by the RAF Benevolent Fund to raise money for their charitable works. The limited edition prints are rarely available on the secondary market and are much sought after by collectors.
