A rare Robert Taylor limited edition featuring the P51 Mustang
Climbing on full power amongst the deep lines of the evening cumulus clouds over Northern France, the P-51 Mustangs of the famous Fourth Fighter Group have penetrated deep into enemy territory. Ahead of a large formation of B-l7s they will shortly intercept the FW 190s of the Luftwaffe. With long range fuel tanks already jettisoned, the P-51s are already for battle. Flown by the experienced Aces of the 'Fighting Fourth', they will acquit themselves well.
WWII's most successful offensive fighter aircraft, the P-51 Mustang, is majestically portrayed in this spectacular painting by Robert Taylor. The aircraft literally fly off the canvas, whilst the deep fire colours of the sunset cloudscape provide a mellow backdrop to the metallic determination of the P-51 pilots
