Nicolas Trudgian Artist Profile


	Since his move in aviation art in the early 1990s, Nicolas Trudgian has gained a reputation as one of the best, with his originals and limited editions being highly sought after by collectors. Having been a prolific sketcher as a child, leaving school for 3 years formal art training at college was a natural evolution.

The early part of his professional career involved a variety of commercial illustration work for many well known corporations, they was often high pressure projects but helped Nicolas develop discipline and speed.Nicolas has always been fascinated by trains and the railways and these were the subjects of his first prints. It was after signing up with his first publisher, The Military Gallery, that he turned to aviation with such excellent results.

A large number of his paintings have been produced as limited edition prints and his catalogue is growing with new editions being released at a rate of 3-4 a year. Many of the early editions are sold out and only available on the secondary market, most have been signed by distinguished aircrew. Two books dedicated to Nicolas Trudgian’s aviation art have been published by David and Charles and more recently a book has been published dedicated to his excellent pencil drawings.
