After another long day chasing off enemy aircraft over the English Channel, C.O. Allan Wright (flying QJ S) with wing-man Flt. Lt. Geoffrey Wellum (flying QJ K), lead the rest of this ‘Flight’ back to Biggin Hill for a well deserved rest and more than likely, a pint of ale or a large whisky!
The back of the canvas is signed in permanent black ink by the following pilots who flew in the Battle of Britain: Geoffrey Wellum DFC, Paddy Barthrop DFC & AFC, Pete Brothers DSO, DFC*, CBE. In addition, the following legendary Spitfire pilot has also signed this magnificent painting; Neville Duke DSO, DFC**, AFC, OBE.
