This was an era of the true, thoroughbred supersonic jet fighter like arguably the greatest of all jet combat aircraft of that time; the McDonnell Douglas F.4 Phantom.
Scorching down the peaceful beauty of the Spey river valley, Scotland, four RAF Phantom FG-1s, flash over Craiglockhart Castle on an ultra low-level training sortie during the squadron’s period of transition from its formation at RAF Coningsby to its home station at RAF Leuchars.
